Treatment #4

Now that we are in somewhat of a routine, Rae has begun to dread treatment day. On one hand she looks forward to it because it is one step closer to being finished. However, each treatment takes a bit of a toll and she has to gear up for it. It means that she is going to be sick for about 4 days, food will taste funny, her mouth will hurt and she will be very, very tired. On the bright side, she will only be sick for 4 days, she can sleep anytime for as long as she would like, she can eat chicken soup and tuna fish and there are movies to watch. There is a plaque in the clinic that says:

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
it is about learning to dance in the rain.

There are many lessons to be learned. We are grateful for the blessings we have. Each day brings us closer to the goal of Rachel being healthy and strong. We are learning to dance in the rain.

And Then There Was None

The finished product.

Last Monday we shaved my head. I am now completely bald. It was the strangest FHE my family has ever had. My mother used electric clippers, my brother donated his electric razor and my dad ... well, you can see what part he played.

1/4 of the way there...

Exam #3

A view of some of the chemotherapy drugs.

On April 16th, Rae had her 3rd chemo treatment. We don't really know how things are going, but we think it's all pretty good. We will know how well the treatments are working when she has her next Pet scan. They may schedule it within the next month (give or take a few weeks).

Rachel's Wig

Blurry picture I know. This gives you an idea of how she looks in her new wig.

More Hair Pictures

When else would you ever know if you looked good with really short hair? Doesn't she look great?

Another new do..

Remember that cute hair cut from the other day? Today we cut it all off. There was so much hair falling out that it was hard to keep up. I think we have used up an entire lint roller. We aren't ready to post a picture just yet. We'll see...maybe tomorrow.

Two down, Ten to go

We were very happy on Friday to learn that Rachel's white count was high enough that she could be given her second chemotherapy treatment.

Friends from BYU-I are visiting this weekend. How fun is that?
